Total revenue from last 3 years

Merry Xmas and Happy New Year!
And beside that, 3 years passed since I left office space. During that time I developed and/or released more than 30 games. Also few games on EyePhone - by my self and via others. Still I have only one portal and one blog but we`re working at the new one casual-portal.

Here is some Numbers:
In total I was able to earn - $145,531. The first year was - $40,468, the second - $28,329, the third - $76,734. In average per month - $4042, or $6380 if to count just last year.

Where: Licenses - money from selling exclusive/primary licenses, Ads - money from advertisements, Others - selling url-locks, non-exclusive, sources, Portal - money from ads on portal (there are other sources of income there, but they are all small and all less than $100), Micro - money from micro-payments.
Portal share went up double. Micro share - x10, but I think it`s a ceiling.

I think I should highlight some things that helped me to get more money this year:

Developer Recap: Johnny-K 2009

Not so long time ago, just 17 months, one good man, who was not happy at his work, stumble upon my blog. And He thought: 'lets give it a shot!' His effort was not wasted, and even more - he is top-hit developer now. Welcome - Johnny-K!

imageimageimageimageimageimage

Johnny-K has shared his stats for 2009 year. Very good numbers - 125k$(gross). He released 6 games.
20% money came from Ads, 3% - from portal, rest from exclusives. Yes, you read it right - exclusives only - no time-wasting for non-exclusives or url-locks. If you have hit-game on hand - don`t waste your time. So far Johnny-K is a happy owner of: portal, blog, studio 2-3 people(including himself)+1 freelance-artist. All 2009 year has been working with Bubblebox only. Reasons are very simple - money, trust, positive experience. And Johnny-K started to do as all we did - from ground zero - he hadn`t even known flash before read my blog.
Main genre of his games - cannons and puzzles. Main feature - physic, based on box2d.

Great tnx to Johnny-K for sharing his stats, and best of luck!

Total revenue from last 2 years

Introduction
Two years I have worked as an Indie. Two years fighting for good on behalf of developers, sharing about my earnings and achievements every month. So far I can say this for sure - going off from offices to become an indie was the best decision I've made. Another one - sharing my stats with you, my dear colleagues.

Some History
I have released 21 Flash games, 3 iPhone games, launched 1 portal, 1 blog, a forum and support group. Meanwhile, my personal life has also seen an increase in quality - no crunches, no 16-hour work days. I became a father for a second time. I was able to spend 31 days outside Russia, and two weeks inside Russia =).

Some Plans
On January 1st, 2010, I will be going with Memphys.SK to an open office in Kaliningrad - the most game developer centric city of Russia.

Stats and Pictures
In total I was able to earn - $68,797. First year was - $40,468, second - $28,329. In average per month - $2,866.

Flash Game Monetization Case Study: Emanuele Feronato

What’s the best recipe for monetizing your game? Flash game blogger and self-proclaimed geek Emanuele Feronato (aka MochiAds member Triqui) weighs in with the results of his experiment.

By Emanuele Feronato:
On October 28th, 2007, I started a an experiment where I released a one-day game called Circle Chain to see if I could earn some bucks with a Flash game. Since that day, I published a total of 10 games and I am currently developing some more.

A year later, this is what I made:

* MochiAds: $4,628.18
* Third-party sponsorship: $4,000.00
* API integration: $250.00
* Donations: $124.00
* Google Adsense: $390.77
* Revenue Sharing: $20.80
* Grand total: $9,413.75

Using 'Big Title' Expirience - Clone Wars, eCPM stats

I`d like to highlight some after launch info about EF:CW.
Here is info about release.

What experience I get with this game?

  • 'Big Title' works - game goes high very fast, and was featured on some sites. Beside that, original flash game - "Star Wars:Clone Wars", was worse than "Elite Forces:Clone Wars".
  • Nice thumb with 'Clone Wars' theme attracts more then usual cool thumb.
  • Some portals do not accept copyright materials, so for some portals and licenses I prepared Clone Assault game.

Lets check how eCPM was changed from last info, as base we will use EF:CW:
